A couple things to mention from over the past week:

Kasey stayed with us over the weekend it was fun! I fell in love with a dog named Watson while we were at the animal shelter. 

I had my first etsy sale! I mailed it off yesterday. Going to to post office made me realize that i had to raise the price for shipping on these vase and branches things im trying to sell because they are much to big to fit in any of the cheap flat rate boxes. The only box they'll fit in is called the game board box (which they don't sell in stores so i ordered some for free online, should be at my house in 7 days) and those cost $15.34 to ship. So pretty sad that it'll cost more then what im trying to sell them for. haha. 

Yesterday i made soup from scratch for the first time in my life. It was a chicken enchilada soup, recipe found here, and it was actually pretty good. We added sour cream and cheese on top which was delicious.  Next time i'd make it less thick.. more milk?.. and probably 1/4 less of each of the chunky ingredients. I like soups more brothy then thick. 

And here is a blurry photo i took the other day while chad and i drove to walmart to pick up my new favorite treat, cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls. This picture just gets me excited because i think about winter and Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all coming up soon! Also.. i just thought about how odd it is that all those big holidays are grouped together so closely? Strange. 

Probably blunt force trauma.

I forgot that i was going to post the Christmas names for the Parr family Christmas. Every year they draw names for who gets who a present. Chad and i were on skype while the names were drawn and i wrote them all down. Here they are!

Tell me about star wars.

Last week there was a 50% off clearance at forever 21 and i got very excited and ordered 7 things for $25. Today it came in the mail and i was surprised because it was a very little package. Inside there were only 3 shirts. I was very disappointed. They did only charge me for the 3 things but it was still upset. I called them  and they told me sorry and that the other things sold out and that i should have got an email about it. I did not. And it made me upset because there was even a second 50% off sale that i could have ordered other clothes if i had just known that those things were sold out after ordering them. But anyways...

Lately kitty knows that when we pick up the keys we are going to open the front door and she gets all excited and meows lots and jumps around the door. She reminds me of a dog a lot. There has been a couple times shes ran out the door and almost runs away from us. We decided to put her on the leash and take her to the park today. She was scared and just rolled around a first but then she started running and chad ran with her across this field that was like the width of a foot ball field. It was soo funny to watch.

This is when we were leaving. It makes me laugh she looks mean and grumpy. You can also see how she has lots of grass and stuff all over her from rolling around.

And here is me and kitty! It was super sunny but rather cold. Its starting to feel like winter!

In our apartment we have 3 bedrooms. One room is ours, the other is the cats room, and the third is a craft room. Since we've moved in its been mostly a storage room but last night i started to organize it and make it look like an actual room i want to go into! I put up some pictures and got chad to put up my curtains.

I painted this frame quite some time ago and when we moved it got all chipped up and the gold from the original color started showing so i decided to sand paper it up a little. I usually don't like the ultra scuffed up look but i think it looks kind of good with these two colors.

The other morning i went to floss my teeth (which is a real unusual thing) but i had lots of time so i thought why not. In the middle of flossing i heard something fall on the floor and looked down and it looked like a little rock. For a second i thought i should really start flossing more if there are rocks hiding in my teeth. But i looked in my mouth and there was a hole in one of the teeth. The little rock was one of my fillings.. so im off to get it refilled Thursday at 2:50pm.

Kitty has begun eating bugs. And she really seems to enjoy it. I can tell when she's found a bug because she starts meowing like crazy then i go over to see whats wrong and there's the bug. So far i've seen her eat two centipedes and almost a spider (i took it away from her before she could finish it) and chad says he's seen her eat a spider as well. She's gross.

Chads been studying for the GRE.. he rented 4 books from the library..

I think i broke our garbage disposal.

And.. im working on having an etsy shop.. perhaps..

hit me where it hurts im coming home to lose.

Yesterday was chad's birthday! He is now 24 years old.

 I was suppose to be working until 10pm yesterday but... i quit my job. By the end of the first day of work i felt depressed. I was cleaning the glass doors to the front of the store and on the other side in the hall of the mall was a custodian sweeping the floors. I was jealous and it made me realize just how much i enjoy custodial work. Working at the children's place wasn't bad.. it just wasn't good. For now on i've decided im applying to custodial jobs only because thats what i want to do!

Anyways.. back to the birthday.. since i wasn't working i was able to decorate with streamers that i had planned for and made a cool cake (i stood in the cake section of the store just standing there staring at the icings trying to figure out what to do for the cake, it took me awhile). but it all seemed to work out. Also since i wasn't working i was able to surprise chad by driving down to rexburg to pick up Kasey to celebrate with us. We went to chick-fil-a.. of course.. and then ate cake and opened presents.

A long time ago for chad's birthday last year.. or maybe valentines day.. or something.. i bought chad this hot air balloon/lantern. Chad saw them in the movie Tangled and thought it was really cool. Before we dropped off kasey back in Rexburg we all went and tried it out.

It was scary. I told chad and kasey that we needed to go to a very big field because it would be bad if it flew into any trees or roofs. We found a place and then chad got it lit. And it took off.. and kept going, up and up. It want sooo high up it was crazy! Eventually we realized we needed to go follow it, but by the time we got in the car and started following it it started falling very fast and we never found it again. But its biodegradable so it should be ok.

Also.... im employed! My new place of employment is the children's place. It is in the mall which is about 2 minutes away and i think the store is full of adorable things so i applied last week and got a call to come in for an interview today and then an hour later i was hired! Im quite excited. 

How do i get to those.

So this weekend chad's mom, two sisters, and brother came down to Idaho. Kasey is starting school this semester and is living in the dorms. We all went down and helped her move in and chad and i showed her around campus and were her classes are and such. It was fun. Im missing school already. Not the home work or waking up early (although i wake up earlier now then i ever did during school) but going to class and learning and taking notes and stuff.

Chad's family left this morning but kasey is still at our house hanging out. We are going to drive her back to Rexburg later tonight. Tuesday we are already planning on going back to rexburg to go to the cheap theater and probably see kasey (and get some mail from our old apartment).

Besides that.... We got a new couch that i looove! I'll take a picture of it soon. And Percy Walter died, i wont take a picture of that soon. He was probably sick before we got him......

So we did make it to the fair. I thought it was cool. It wasn't quite as impressive as the Alaska fair but it was still good. I didn't buy any fair food sadly, but we played some impossible to win games. BUT, chad won one! He won a gold fish. Out of all the games he really wanted to win a gold fish, which i told him was silly since you can just go buy a gold fish for 15 cents unlike the other prizes like giant purple gorillas and stuff. But surprisingly he did win, which was very cool. He has named the fish Percy Walter.

We bought Percy Walter a cool tank and have been keeping it inside of my bird cage so he doesn't get killed by darcy and kitty. Kitty gets really excited when she sees him and freaks out when i open his fish food. I think she likes the smell. Anyways when i took the tank out of the cage to take pictures of Percy Walter when i looked back at the cage and kitty was inside with the lid shut. It looked very funny, I laughed.

I always said i didn't want a black cat because they are so hard to take pictures of. I was trying to take a cute one of kitty and Percy Walter and this is what i got. haha. A big black blob with a fish.

We have officially moved to Idaho Falls! Im liking our new apartment and not having chad drive very far to work every day. We still aren't completely moved in, we have some boxes in a room that i haven't decided what to do with yet. But yep.

Im looking for work and chads having a hard time with his bad scheduling at work. Its making him not like his work. He's working on a back up plan in case things don't work out. We will see how that goes..

Darcy and kitty love the new apartment they get very excited and love running up and down the hall. Here's some pictures of them, not running, but still cute.

Also, my little yellow side table did not look good in our new apartment so i decided to repaint it using the clearance paint i bought for the dresser but didn't end up using. I really like the way it looks now. It looks much better. It was just way to bright before.

We are suppose to go the fair today but i feel as though chads stalling because he doesn't want to go. But we are going. : )

You should have listened much more carefully.

Well the past two days i have been packing, slowly. haha. Tomorrow i have all day to finish every thing up which will probably only take a couple more hours. I can not wait to move out of this apartment. We are renting a Uhaul on saturday and we only have it for 4 hours which would be fine except driving to and from idaho falls is about 40mins each way so we only have about 1 hour to pack up as much as we can, drive, unpack everything in another hour, and then drive back. So it'll have to be a very quick move but we don't have much so im not too worried! Here is some of our stuff packed up. (the white garbage bag has shoes, not garbage we wont to bring with us)

There is lots of cleaning to do before we move as well. I have set aside two days after we move to come back to the apartment when its empty and clean it all then. Another thing thats made a mess is old blacky. Here is the Exon Blacky spill in our drive way. its quite large. Since this picture i've put kitty litter on it and let it sit then swept it up but its still not that great.

 

And, lately Chad makes us go to bed a like 10pm since he wakes up super early for work, like 6am. So without trying i've been waking up at 9am every morning. It makes my day too long. haha. I don't have enough stuff right now to fill my days. I really wish i had someone to take pictures of because that would be lots of fun. And i really want to edit pictures because thats fun too. In my bored time alone today i took this picture of myself to fill my time :)

And here is a our little friend who is starving outside because our apartment manager is a meany. She might look fluffy and big in this picture but when you touch her (which is gross because she's all dirty but you can't help it because she trys to rub against you and is so desperate) she is really really skinny and you can feel her bones perfectly. Its sad. i can see how people become animal hoarders. Four paws said they are all full and they suggested the animal shelter but the animal shelter said they'd forward my email onto animal control and see if there is anything that can be done. I have a feeling nothing can be done.

A cat called Rococo

Here is a little update on my dresser... I bought this contact paper at the dollar store that i loved but only had enough to do one drawer and when i went back to the dollar store they were all out. We even checked the one in Idaho Falls. i was very sad at first and decided to give up on that. But yesterday we went to the dollar store for fun and there it was again! So i bought all they had even though i only needed two. haha. I really like the pattern and its soo cheap so i'll have some for another project. 

Also unhappily for chad i sold our couch today. Darcy likes to lay on it and does this cute little thing where she sprawls out and holds on tightly. She did it early today so i made sure i took a picture before we no longer had the couch, because i think shes adorable when she does it. :)

Also also, we put in our application yesterday for an apartment we went and looked at and liked but today i got a call and someone put a deposit down on it the day before! So that stressed me out and i felt hopeless. But chad and i found this other one that would be good. It says it will be available by the 24th which would be fine if we can move in right away, but the other apartment said it was available right away but it was actually going to be a week before we could move in because they had to do repairs and clean the carpets. So i'll call on Monday and hope everything works out!

Just found this website where you can buy pegs for your sofa's from ikea. They come in many many colors and shapes. They are quite expensive though, and ship from Sweden.

A couple things have happened these past days....

I have a new nephew his name is Bridger. i have only seen two pictures of him so far but he looks like a cutie. We are planning on going up to Utah early next monthish to see him. That means i now have two nieces and two nephews.

I've been trying to keep myself busy while chads at work. For work he's already gone to the zoo twice, long boarded, and went to the part and toysRus. I feel bad for him he works so hard. haha.. jk. i actually do really appreciate him for finding this job and working for us. I've decided i don't want to get a job until we have moved to idaho falls since driving blacky back and forth scares me. Driving blacky any where scares me actually. haha. 

Anyways we are going to go see an apartment on tuesday so thats exciting. Its a little more then we wanted to pay but its been really hard find an apartment that allows pets and isn't in a junky/sketchy neighborhood. 

And thats about it. So i love bird home decor things and we went into this little store the other day in rexburg and i bought this cute little moss birds nest. i think its cute!

Oh yeah, also my friend kimberly gave me this little side table for free so i spray painted it (with the original dresser spray paint) and then "tried" modge podging wrapping paper on to the top. I say tried because it did not work to well. It looks great from farther away but up close there are bumps. After modge podging chad spray painted it with this sealant stuff so its got a nice glossy feel to it. its kind of cute.

I've finally finished my dresser. Im very glad im done with it. It was starting to drive me crazy. Lots of problems came up with this dresser and money wise it ended up much more then planned. But i learned a lot of things for next time, which wont be for awhile! 

So i had taken picture of all the steps it look like filling in chips with plastic wood, sanding things down, and primering, but it appears i deleted my memory card before uploading them onto my computer. :( oh well. They were boring pictures anyways. But here are some things I learned that i must remember for next time....

1. It might not be worth it to buy a piece of furniture if there are lots of chips and holes. You can see in the after picture how there are still bumps and chips on the drawers and top. I used plastic wood and sanded as much as i could but i didn't quite get the hang of how plastic wood worked until it was a little too late.

2. I am no good at spray painting anything wider then 4 inches! I first tried spray painting this dresser. All the blogs say its the best. I just about went crazy! No matter what i did it always looked stripey or blotchy. I even googled youtube videos on how to make it even but i could not get it right. So after buying about 4 bottles of spray paint (one blog said the stripes would go away after you put enough paint on.. lie) i decided to go back to good old paint. Although this leaves brush marks (I could try using a roller instead) it at least gives an even look.


3. Make sure colors go well together before buying. After the spray paint didn't work we went and bought paint: Grape Festival. I loved it. After painting the frame i went to paint the drawers that still had the spray paint color on them. Chad and i both thought the two colors looked really well together and we wanted to leave it. BUT, because they were spray painted they were all blotchy and gross looking, like you can see in this picture. So we went to walmart to look at the clearance paints to see if there was anything good we could paint the drawers. Below is the paint we found which we thought was a grey that could look pretty. When i got it home and started painting the drawers it looked awful. It was more of a light blue/white then a grey. So i ended up just painting the drawers the same Grape Festival color as the rest of the dresser. And that is how the dresser ended up the color it is now.

Yep! And now im excited to not paint anything for a long time!
